When it comes to skincare, it’s all about timing. Making some smart changes at the right time can make a big difference and give you a healthy complexion.

  • Choose gentle and moisturising products. There’s no need to use any preventative skincare products for mature skin yet.
  • If you skin looks tired and puffy, Institut Esthederm’s Radiance Cream (£48.45) is perfect for fighting the first signs of ageing whilst keeping the skin radiant.
  • If your skin is prone to blemishes, choose acne-fighting skincare.
  • You don’t really need heavy foundations yet, so try a BB cream from Bioderma’s Sensibio range (£15.50), which is great for covering any signs of fatigue.
  • For gentle yet effective cleansing, try Institut Esthederm’s Oscmoclean Gentle Deep Pore Cleanser (£26.50), which will not dry out the skin, but leave it feeling refreshed and looking radiant.

  • This is the age when you should consider introducing anti-ageing products into your skincare routine.
  • Choose products enriched with vitamins A, E and C as well as hyaluronic acid and oxygen.
  • You should start using night and eye creams. Try Institut Esthederm’s Lift & Repair Eye Contour Lift Patches (£53 for 10) Patches to banish dark circles.
  • Proper hydration is key to keeping those fine lines at bay. Bioderma’s Hydrabio range adds the perfect amount of moisture to the skin without making it oily. Try Hydrabio H2O Micelle Solution (£10.80 for 250ml) and Hydrabio Masque Moisturising Mask (£15).
  • Hide tiredness and emphasise your natural beauty with high quality makeup.

  • Eyes are likely to lose definition in your 40s. The Institut Esthederm Youth EyeContour Cream (£58) will fade any wrinkles, puffiness and dark circles.
  • Don’t forget to look after your neck and décolleté. The skin is thinner and more sensitive in these areas. Treat it the same way you treat your face.
  • Using a deeply hydrating serum will bring radiance to the skin. Choose one with hyaluronic acid that will moisturise the skin without feeling heavy. Try Institut Esthederm’s Intensive Hyaluronic Serum (£49.50).
  • A gentle but deep cleanser is ideal for keeping elasticity in the skin. Bioderma’s Hydrabio Exfoliating Gel (£10.80) smoothes the skin and restores radiance.

Christmas holidays usually mean a lot of fun parties and celebrations, and there’s no better time to experiment with makeup a little bit and create some bold looks. Anastasia Beverly Hills have got you covered with their newest launches for the holiday season, so let’s take a deeper look into some of the products that, I’m sure, you’ll love!

If you are a matte lipstick fan and have never tried ABH’s liquid lipsticks, stop everything you’re doing and go get yourself some! They are truly long lasting, intensely pigmented and non drying – everything you want and more. From the first time I tried one of the colours, I was hooked. I want my lipsticks to stay put as long as possible and be easy to apply and these ABH ones do just that. Try a set of these three gorgeous colours if you aren’t ready to commit to a full size lipstick yet. The size of these minis is actually very generous (2.3g each), so you’re getting great value for  money.

Shades in the set:

  • Dazed – Redwood
  • Bittersweet – Swiss chocolate
  • Hudson – Deep peach

HOLIDAY BLUSH KITS (Radiant and Gradient, £31 each)

Holiday Blush kits are another exciting launch from Anastasia Beverly Hills. Each shade can be used alone or together to create a multi-dimensional look. Radiant palette (left) consists of four pink and peach fully pigmented blush shades that blend seamlessly into one another. It’s a perfect blush kit for fair to tan complexions.

Shade descriptions:

  • Spoiled – Cool pink with gold sparkle
  • Coastline – Satin coral peach
  • Breeze – Satin rose
  • Terrace – Satin crimson peach

Gradient features four stunning brown and berry tones, ideal for tan to deep complexions. A little bit goes a long way, so use a light hand when applying and then build up until you achieve your preferred intensity. Even though the ‘Gradient’ kit is more suited for darker skin, I think the shade ‘Dusk’ works really well as a contouring shade even for fair complexions and Vegas adds some beautiful warmth to the face.

Shade descriptions:

  • Vegas – Matte corduroy brown
  • Dusk – Satin brown taupe
  • Chocolate – Satin warm copper brown
  • Blackberry – Deep berry

Probably the most exciting launch, Prism eyeshadow palette is everything you need and more for the party season. The palette features 14 shades that range from universal neutrals to prismatic metallics, so you can create many different looks, from quite neutral to really adventurous. Fourteen shades include ultra-matte, duo chrome, and metallic finishes. My absolute fave from this palette is the shade Throne – a metallic blackened blue-green with multicolor reflect. I’m wearing it in the photo below.

Check out and treat yourself or a fellow makeup addict this Christmas!

Some of the looks I created using the products mentioned above:

Skinny Caffe is a health & wellbeing company promoting healthy, active and balanced lifestyle, offering a variety of products including Skinny Coffee, Zero Calorie Skinny Syrup and more. The company promotes a healthy and balanced lifestyle and suggests enjoying their products as a part of it.

I got to try their Original Skinny Coffee (£24.95 for a one month program) and I was sceptical at first, because I don’t believe in ‘magical drinks’ that will make you lose weight, so I appreciate the fact that Skinny Caffe doesn’t claim that their products will make you lose weight no matter what. If you want to eat fast food every day, no amount of Skinny Coffee will help you – it’s just not how it works (check out Skinny Caffe’s free nutrition and training guide).

To be perfectly honest, I wasn’t eating the best diet when I was drinking Skinny Coffee, so I didn’t lose weight, but it helped me so much with bloating. After a few days of drinking it, I noticed a huge difference, which I was really excited about.

Skinny Coffee includes ingredients, such as Acai berry (helps aid digestion, muscle performance), Goji berry (reduces stress levels, eliminates toxins), L Carnitine (enhances fat metabolisation) and more to help you with your weight loss journey.

Doucce is an American makeup brand striving to be the international brand for the international beauty. Its name was inspired by the French word ‘douce’, which means soft and elegant. Doucce’s brand philosophy, Discover Your Individuality was inspired by Parisian elegance and New York attitude.

Doucce has a wide range of products, from foundations to mascaras and highlighters. Here’s our top three favourite from the brand:

Lip Definer Pencil, $20

A must have for any lipstick routine, this waterproof lip liner from Doucce is creamy, goes on smoothly and doesn’t smudge at all. The formula is velvety smooth and blendable, so it’s very easy to apply, no tugging or pulling. Available in gorgeous eight colours.

Freematic Eyeshadow Quad, $35

Doucce’s eyeshadows are truly one of the best: they blend effortlessly, there’s almost no kick up or fallout and the colour payoff is great. A new independent makeup brand, founded by British entrepreneur Nadine Bryanrange, launches on the 6th November in the UK. B:UNDENIABLE is a luxury range of makeup for women of colour that embodies and celebrates individuality.

The products have been formulated to match the undertones from cool, olive-toned Mediterranean complexions to dark-toned skin. The range includes foundations, blushes, lipsticks, eyeshadows and more.

The founder Nadine Bryan said: “I have worked tirelessly for over two years creating these products. It has been a labour of love, but I am proud of the outcome and I cannot wait to share these products with the world.”

We had a change to get our hands on a few products before the launch and here’s what we thought:

Illuminate + Define in Glorious Gold (£21.50)

The compact features a 3 in 1 light reflecting highlighter, concealer and a contour shade. All three are creams.

The highlighter applied beautifully on the skin with no patchiness or greasiness. Be aware that a cream highlighter can move your foundation if you aren’t gentle with the application, so it’s best to tap it on with your fingers for a beautiful glow.

The orange concealer is great for covering the under eye area for olive and darker complexions. It can also be used as an eyeshadow base or even as a cream eyeshadow. Orange concealer adds some warmth and glow to dull skin with cool undertones.

The contour shade will help sculpt your features and frame your face. The only downside we saw in this product is the small size of the pan, because you will likely have to use your finger to add the contour to your face, which is not the most convenient way of doing it, however, the product size is perfect for quick touch ups on the go.

Recommended for cool complexions.

Opaque Eyeshadow in Sienna (£8)

B:UNDENIABLE also has a range of opaque and iridescent eyeshadows available in a variety of colours, from neutral warm tones to blues and pinks. We got to try one of each and are actually bigger fans of the opaque eyeshadow. It’s very pigmented, blends easily and is crease-resistant.

The iridescent one was good as well, but it’s not a ‘in your face’ shimmer, which if great if you’re looking for a daytime/office appropriate iridescent eyeshadow.

Iridescent Eyeshadow in Wild Copper (£9.50)

B:UNDENIABLE launches next Monday (6th November) at 6am

Skin689 is a Zurich based premium skincare company that is all about effective ingredients and products that really work. As specialists in correction of unwanted visible changes of the skin, skin689 combine proven active ingredients for treating problem areas such as cellulite or contour loss.

The range consists of four innovative products:

Crème Anti-Cellulite (£49, 100ml)

More collagen fiber, less cellulite, is what skin689 Crème Anti-Cellulite is all about thanks to its patent-pending active ingredient CHacoll. Due to CHacoll, the collagen synthesis in the subcutaneous tissue is stimulated, and thus, the skin becomes visibly firmer within a few weeks. The skin surface is smoothed, and its elasticity is remarkably improved.

Firm Skin Decolleté and Neck (£36.50, 50ml)

The delicate skin of the decolleté is unforgiving and can show wrinkles quickly. skin689 Firm Skin Decolleté and Neck Cream, with DermCom crocus bulb extract, promotes the regeneration of the collagen and elastin network, providing additional firmness and visibly reducing wrinkles. Within the décolleté area the sparsely pronounced hypodermic fatty tissue allows only a thin collagen network layer, reducing its natural rebound effect to remove wrinkles. This is where the Firm Skin Decolleté and Neck Creme comes in: active ingredients enhance the regeneration of the collagen and elastin network for more tone and less wrinkles.
Firm Skin Upper Arms (£34.50, 40ml)

Firm Skin Upper Arms is developed specifically for the upper arms and can catalyse energy metabolism and breakdown fatty acids. The active ingredients CoAXEL® and PhytocellTec ™ argan stem cell extract support the reduction of dispensable fatty acids, increasing the collagen concentration and firming the skin. Crocus bulb extract strengthens the collagen network and caffeine drains the tissue.
Bio-Cellulose Face Mask (£5.90, 1 piece)

The Bio-Cellulose Hyaluron Face Mask soothes and refreshes the facial skin instantly. Its fine natural fibres are extracted from natural coconut water in a biotechnological process and fermented into a gel-like tissue. As a result, the mask fits like a second skin and effectively covers even the finest wrinkle. The mask is enriched with hyaluronic acid that replenishes the moisture deposits of the skin and fills wrinkles from the inside. An amino acid complex additionally moisturises and nourishes the skin cells. Adenosine is involved in the synthesis of pro-collagen, as it relaxes the muscles responsible for the facial expressions and thus provides an immediate smoothing effect.

Products from skin689 can be found in over 300 beauty salons in Switzerland and are also available in the company’s online shop:

Choosing the right foundation for your skin might be tricky with so many options available. If you have combination or oily skin, you might want to stick to matte finishes; or if your skin is dry, dewy finish would probably look best on you. We’ve rounded up some of our favourites with coverage ranging from sheer to buildable, to full.

EX1 Cosmetics Invisiwear Liquid Foundation, £12.50 (now on sale for £10!)

A lightweight and luminous liquid base, formulated with light diffusers that unify skin tone and cover imperfections effortlessly. Specially designed ‘true colour’ pigments work perfectly with your skin’s natural tones in an ultra-blendable formula. Available in 14 shades.

Lucy says: I heard so many great things about this foundation and it didn’t disappoint. It has been developed with olive-toned skin in mind, but its yellow undertones make it ideal for most people. It’s buildable so can be worn very light or worked up to a much heavier coverage. I’ve used the foundation for a natural no makeup look right through to an older mother of a bride with rosacea. It’s an absolute bargain too.

Joan Collins Beauty First Base Foundation, £25

First Base Foundation is youth-promoting skin care and a foundation in one. It creates a smooth, flawless complexion with a radiant, natural finish, whilst charging the skin with youthful energy to help increase collagen. In addition, Hyaluronic Acid moisturises and fills fine lines. The foundation blends quickly and easily and leaves the skin feeling soft and comfortable, like a perfect second skin. Available in 8 shades.

Sleek Makeup Lifeproof Foundation, £8.99 (now on sale for £7!)

Lifeproof your look with this foundation that goes the distance. Soft-focus powders create a blurring effect and help to reduce the appearance of fine lines. The oil-free formula can help skin look even and shine-free, whilst imperfections are concealed. Available in 24 shades, which is fantastic for a budget-friendly brand.

Paula says: I honestly didn’t expect that it will be so good! I have problematic skin, dry with red spots, and it’s get difficult when I want full coverage. When wearing this foundation,  I did not have to fix my face during the day. Actually, I don’t see any difference between this foundation and a Clinique one that I am using now, except the Sleek one is more affordable. The other thing that I really enjoyed was that it doesn’t transfer much at all.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation, £25

A highly pigmented, buildable cream formula that leaves a natural matte finish. Apply Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation as an all-over foundation, sheered out as a tinted moisturizer, or for highlighting and contouring. Available in 30 shades.

Jurga says: This was a first stick foundation I’ve ever used, because my skin is prone to dehydration , so I was a bit sceptical of using a stick formula, because it can exaggerate dry patches. But I have to say this foundation looks simply beautiful on my skin when used with a hydrating primer. It’s often my go-to when I want medium coverage as opposed to full. It’s so easy to blend, which is perfect when you are in a rush.

The Ordinary Coverage Foundation, £5.90

Th Coverage Foundation from The Ordinary offers a smooth, lightweight finish that resists collecting within fine lines and stays on for longer. It has a semi-matte finish and works exceptionally well with the primers from The Ordinary. Available in 21 shades.
