HOLIDAY MAKEUP WITH ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS

Christmas holidays usually mean a lot of fun parties and celebrations, and there’s no better time to experiment with makeup a little bit and create some bold looks. Anastasia Beverly Hills have got you covered with their newest launches for the holiday season, so let’s take a deeper look into some of the products that, I’m sure, you’ll love!

LIQUID LIPSTICK-3PC SET MINI (£26)

If you are a matte lipstick fan and have never tried ABH’s liquid lipsticks, stop everything you’re doing and go get yourself some! They are truly long lasting, intensely pigmented and non drying – everything you want and more. From the first time I tried one of the colours, I was hooked. I want my lipsticks to stay put as long as possible and be easy to apply and these ABH ones do just that. Try a set of these three gorgeous colours if you aren’t ready to commit to a full size lipstick yet. The size of these minis is actually very generous (2.3g each), so you’re getting great value for  money.

Shades in the set:

  • Dazed – Redwood
  • Bittersweet – Swiss chocolate
  • Hudson – Deep peach

HOLIDAY BLUSH KITS (Radiant and Gradient, £31 each)

Holiday Blush kits are another exciting launch from Anastasia Beverly Hills. Each shade can be used alone or together to create a multi-dimensional look. Radiant palette (left) consists of four pink and peach fully pigmented blush shades that blend seamlessly into one another. It’s a perfect blush kit for fair to tan complexions.

Shade descriptions:

  • Spoiled – Cool pink with gold sparkle
  • Coastline – Satin coral peach
  • Breeze – Satin rose
  • Terrace – Satin crimson peach

Gradient features four stunning brown and berry tones, ideal for tan to deep complexions. A little bit goes a long way, so use a light hand when applying and then build up until you achieve your preferred intensity. Even though the ‘Gradient’ kit is more suited for darker skin, I think the shade ‘Dusk’ works really well as a contouring shade even for fair complexions and Vegas adds some beautiful warmth to the face.

Shade descriptions:

  • Vegas – Matte corduroy brown
  • Dusk – Satin brown taupe
  • Chocolate – Satin warm copper brown
  • Blackberry – Deep berry

PRISM PALETTE (£43)

Probably the most exciting launch, Prism eyeshadow palette is everything you need and more for the party season. The palette features 14 shades that range from universal neutrals to prismatic metallics, so you can create many different looks, from quite neutral to really adventurous. Fourteen shades include ultra-matte, duo chrome, and metallic finishes. My absolute fave from this palette is the shade Throne – a metallic blackened blue-green with multicolor reflect. I’m wearing it in the photo below.

FAVOURITE FOUNDATIONS 2017

Choosing the right foundation for your skin might be tricky with so many options available. If you have combination or oily skin, you might want to stick to matte finishes; or if your skin is dry, dewy finish would probably look best on you. We’ve rounded up some of our favourites with coverage ranging from sheer to buildable, to full.

EX1 Cosmetics Invisiwear Liquid Foundation, £12.50 (now on sale for £10!)

A lightweight and luminous liquid base, formulated with light diffusers that unify skin tone and cover imperfections effortlessly. Specially designed ‘true colour’ pigments work perfectly with your skin’s natural tones in an ultra-blendable formula. Available in 14 shades.

Lucy says: I heard so many great things about this foundation and it didn’t disappoint. It has been developed with olive-toned skin in mind, but its yellow undertones make it ideal for most people. It’s buildable so can be worn very light or worked up to a much heavier coverage. I’ve used the foundation for a natural no makeup look right through to an older mother of a bride with rosacea. It’s an absolute bargain too.

Joan Collins Beauty First Base Foundation, £25

First Base Foundation is youth-promoting skin care and a foundation in one. It creates a smooth, flawless complexion with a radiant, natural finish, whilst charging the skin with youthful energy to help increase collagen. In addition, Hyaluronic Acid moisturises and fills fine lines. The foundation blends quickly and easily and leaves the skin feeling soft and comfortable, like a perfect second skin. Available in 8 shades.

Sleek Makeup Lifeproof Foundation, £8.99 (now on sale for £7!)

Lifeproof your look with this foundation that goes the distance. Soft-focus powders create a blurring effect and help to reduce the appearance of fine lines. The oil-free formula can help skin look even and shine-free, whilst imperfections are concealed. Available in 24 shades, which is fantastic for a budget-friendly brand.

Paula says: I honestly didn’t expect that it will be so good! I have problematic skin, dry with red spots, and it’s get difficult when I want full coverage. When wearing this foundation,  I did not have to fix my face during the day. Actually, I don’t see any difference between this foundation and a Clinique one that I am using now, except the Sleek one is more affordable. The other thing that I really enjoyed was that it doesn’t transfer much at all.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation, £25

A highly pigmented, buildable cream formula that leaves a natural matte finish. Apply Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation as an all-over foundation, sheered out as a tinted moisturizer, or for highlighting and contouring. Available in 30 shades.

Jurga says: This was a first stick foundation I’ve ever used, because my skin is prone to dehydration , so I was a bit sceptical of using a stick formula, because it can exaggerate dry patches. But I have to say this foundation looks simply beautiful on my skin when used with a hydrating primer. It’s often my go-to when I want medium coverage as opposed to full. It’s so easy to blend, which is perfect when you are in a rush.

The Ordinary Coverage Foundation, £5.90

Th Coverage Foundation from The Ordinary offers a smooth, lightweight finish that resists collecting within fine lines and stays on for longer. It has a semi-matte finish and works exceptionally well with the primers from The Ordinary. Available in 21 shades.
